485 Post-Study Stream Visa Journey with Jose Eduardo Biotto

Meet Jose Eduardo Biotto, a 30-year-old Brazilian student, who shares his journey of studying graphic design and project management on the Gold Coast. Stay tuned to discover how credit linkage benefits played a crucial role in this phase of his adventure, allowing him to reduce his university studies by 1 year.

In this interview, Jose shares on the challenges, benefits, and vibrant lifestyle Australia has to offer, all while navigating the 485 Post-study stream visa. Let’s dive in!

When Did You Arrive and Why Australia?

Back in March 2015, I landed in Australia, attracted by the opportunity to work part-time while honing my English skills. Australia seemed like the perfect place to strike that balance between work and study.

Courses and Positive Aspects of Studying in Australia

I dived into an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design and a Diploma of Project Management at Mindroom Innovation. One of the best things about studying in Australia? Well, the ability to work while studying is a game-changer. Living on the Gold Coast has been nothing short of fantastic. The perfect work-life balance here lets me soak up the outdoors – from the beaches to the mountains. I’m all about sports and outdoor adventures in my spare time.

Credit Linkage Benefits

Thanks to Mindroom’s partnership with Southern Cross University, I managed to shave off 1 year from my university studies through credit linkage benefits. The Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design, coupled with my journalism background and experience in movie-making and photography, opened up this opportunity. Despite having the chance to claim more credits, I strategically opted for one year to make sure I met the eligibility criteria for the 485 Visa.

Why I Choose Mindroom

Why did I choose Mindroom Innovation? Simple – they offered the Graphic Design course I was looking for, and the ‘live briefing’ sessions, where real clients were involved in the learning process, sealed the deal for me. The Burleigh Heads campus, where I spent my academic days, was not just well-located but also conducive to a great learning environment.

Career and Future Plans

Currently, I’m working at the Australian Paramedical College. My studies in graphic design and project management have been a game-changer for my career. Looking ahead, my goal is to dive into the film industry, focusing on film editing. Let’s see where that takes me!

My Advice for Students

Thinking of studying in Australia? My advice is to pick a course and school that brings you joy and excitement. It’s not just about ticking visa requirements; it’s about adding real value to your life.
