Academic Support

Struggling with the basics of programming? Feeling a little overwhelmed by assessments? These weekly 1-on-1 support sessions (on Fridays) are here to help! Whether you’re just starting out or need a little extra support, these sessions are designed to guide you through the things you feel stuck on.

Every Friday, 9.00 AM – 12.00 PM @ Mindroom (upstairs classroom)

Open to all IT students

The IT Dojo focuses on creating a supportive environment where students can confidently build their programming skills. We understand that learning to code can feel daunting, especially for those who are new to the field. That’s why each class is tailored to help you overcome challenges and gain a solid understanding of essential programming concepts like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.

Each session is aligned to current coding units in the academic calendar.

Thursday, 2 PM to 4 PM @ Mindroom (upstairs classroom)

  • 1 hour 30 minutes: Work on hands-on projects
  • 30 minutes: Q&A session to clarify doubts and get feedback

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Our Student Support Team is dedicated to your overall wellbeing—both personally and academically. You can reach out anytime for help with:

  • Emotional or mental-health concerns

  • Study-related stress or personal challenges

  • Getting connected with external counselling or community services

  • Confidential one-on-one support without cost for referral services

  • General Practitioner (GP) – Ask for a Mental Health Care Plan, which may allow you to access subsidised sessions with a psychologist
