How to Apply - International

Applying to study at Mindroom is a straightforward process designed to support you at every step. 

Follow the steps below to complete your international student application.

Begin by completing the Enrolment Application Form.
Education Agents can assist you with completing and submitting your application.

Before applying, international students should carefully read:

These documents outline important information about your rights, responsibilities, and course requirements.

Once we receive your application, you will receive an email confirmation.
Your application will then move into processing, which usually takes up to one week.
If you are applying for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) or Credit Transfer, processing may take longer.

If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Offer (LoO).

This document includes important details such as:

  • Course duration and start dates

  • Fees and payment plan

  • Special requirements

  • Your personal information (used to generate your CoE)

Read your Letter of Offer thoroughly.
If anything is unclear or incorrect, contact our Admissions Team immediately.

If you choose to accept the offer, please complete the following:

a. Sign the Letter of Offer (All pages must be initialled and signed where required)

b. Pay the Course Deposit

c. Provide the Required Documentation

Submit the following documents to complete your enrolment:

  1. Copy of your passport

  2. Signed Letter of Offer (all pages must be initialled and signed where required)

  3. Most current CV/Resume (in English, PDF format)

  4. Completed Genuine Student (GS) Form

  5. Copy of current visa (if applicable)

  6. Payment receipt

  7. Copy of OSHC policy (when available)

  8. English Certificate – Upper Intermediate*

  9. Portfolio or Cert IV/Diploma of Graphic Design
    (Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design applicants only)

Once completed, email all documents and receipts to:

Submitting everything correctly will be considered your formal Acceptance of Offer.

After we receive your Acceptance of Offer and required documents, we will update your details in PRISMS and issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

Your CoE will be emailed to you.
Once received, you may lodge your Student Visa Application (or your Education Agent may lodge it for you).

Mindroom’s course entry standard is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent). We also accept a recent Certificate IV or higher completed in Australia as meeting our course English standard.
 
Student visa English evidence (Department of Home Affairs):
If you need to show English for your Subclass 500 visa, the Department accepts the following tests taken within 2 years of lodgement (or within 2 years of the decision if evidence isn’t provided at lodgement):
 
IELTS Academic or General Training: average band 6.0
PTE Academic: 47
TOEFL iBT: 67 (total)
OET: B in each component
C1 Advanced (CAE): 161 (note: not valid for ELICOS concession)
CELPIP General: 7
LanguageCert Academic: 61
MET: 53
 
Packaged English (ELICOS) / pathway options:
If your principal course is packaged with:
10 weeks ELICOS (or a standard/extended foundation, or an eligible pathway program), lower scores may apply (e.g. IELTS 5.5 / PTE 39 / TOEFL iBT 51, etc.).
20 weeks ELICOS, lower scores may apply again (e.g. IELTS 5.0 / PTE 31 / TOEFL iBT 37, etc.).
(C1 Advanced cannot be used for these concessions.)
 
Exemptions:
You may not need a test if you: hold passports from the UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Ireland; have completed eligible Australian study (e.g. Senior Secondary or AQF Cert IV+ on a student visa); or have 5+ years of study in English in listed countries. See the Department of Home Affairs for full details.
 
Note about the Mindroom English Test
Our internal English test is used for course placement only. It does not meet DHA visa evidence requirements.

Follow these steps:

  1. Create an account

  2. Once confirmed, log in and click “Enrol” in the LLN course

  3. Start the test (each section is timed)

  4. Receive your results after completion

  5. If you meet the Upper-Intermediate level, you will be invited to a live interview
