Introducing our next exciting event from our Student Development Lab: “Beyond the wave: photography, light and movement”, with Pedro Corsato, professional photographer and Graphic Design student at Mindroom

This workshop is an extension of this term’s unit CUAACD522 – Work with Photomedia in Creative Practice, from our Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design course. But you don’t have to be a Graphic Design student to join.

    • – Basic camera settings using natural light, white balance, and other fundamentals
    • – A live “hands-on” session – walking tour around Burleigh, capturing surf, nature, and more, guided by Pedro
    • Mindroom will later print and display the photos in an exhibition on one of our walls
    •
    • Notes:
      • – Bringing your own camera is ideal, as we have limited cameras available for participants

      About Pedro

    • Pedro is a visual creative based on the Gold Coast, originally from Brazil. With a background in Advertising and Graphic Design, he blends photography with surf culture to capture real and powerful moments.

      As Pedro shares:

    • “My focus on surfing goes beyond the shapes of the ocean. I’m drawn to the movement of the surfers, their flow, timing, and the raw energy within each wave. Through my work, I explore motion, light, and human connection, translating the rhythm of the ocean into compelling visual narratives.”

You can explore his work on Instagram at @framesdopedro and through his professional portfolio
