This Month’s Workshop: Pumping Circuits – Hands-On Arduino Workshop

On Friday, 12th September, our event space will transform into a buzzing hub of innovation as Salvi Guix Verdaguer, a Diploma of Project Management student, presents.

What It’s All About

In this engaging 90-minute session, Salvi will take attendees behind the scenes of his personal Arduino-based project. This project was developed as part of his Diploma of Project Management assessment.

But this is more than just a tech demo. Salvi will share how he brought together:

  • His background and prior learning
  • His technical and planning skills
  • His passion for innovation and electronics
  • His long-term personal and professional aspirations

The Agenda

1. Introduction to the Personal Project Assignment

  • Brief overview of the upcoming hands-on project.

2. Lap Timer Project Demo (30 mins)

  • Live demonstration of a student-built Arduino lap timer for a Pumptrack.
  • Shows real-world use of electronics and coding in an engaging way.

3. Arduino Workshop (60 mins total)

  • 3.1. Introduction to Arduino (15 mins)
    • Overview of Arduino and installation of the Arduino IDE.
    • Hands-on activity: upload the “Blink” sketch to test LED functionality.
  • 3.2. ChatGPT-Powered Arduino Help (approx. 45 mins)
    • Learn how to use ChatGPT for coding support and debugging.
    • Practice writing prompts to generate or improve Arduino code.

About the Presenter

Salvi is currently completing his Diploma of Project Management at Mindroom. With a background in electronics and a passion for tech and innovation, he’s used this assignment to bring his vision to life. He demonstrates not only his practical ability, but his strategic thinking and leadership in project delivery.
