This is a full-time course that spans 92 academic weeks, with an additional 27 holiday weeks, totalling 119 weeks enrolment.

  • – Must be a minimum of 18 years old when the course commences
  • – Must demonstrate English proficiency. See ‘ENGLISH (COURSE ENTRY & VISA EVIDENCE)’ in tab below.
    Note: A reasonable level of English is required to understand course concepts and communicate effectively.

General Requirements for All Students:

  • – A personal laptop is a mandatory requirement for in-class studies
  • – Laptop Specs: Windows PC with an i7 Intel chip. This spec ensures the machine will remain suitable for years, with appropriate RAM and HDD to match the CPU specs. Apple machines are not recommended due to frequent compatibility issues. Ensure the laptop choice isn’t running a Snapdragon chip, as software cannot utilise this correctly, as this will cause issues, similar to the M series chip on an Apple machine.
  • – Proficiency in basic computer usage and software applications, including Microsoft Office or similar software
  • – Proficiency in using web browsers

    As part of our course enrolment process, students will undergo initial interviews and assessments to ensure they meet these requirements. Any identified issues will be addressed with Mindroom management prior to the course commencement to ensure a smooth learning experience.

Mindroom’s course entry standard is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent). We also accept a recent Certificate IV or higher completed in Australia as meeting our course English standard.
 
Student visa English evidence (Department of Home Affairs):
If you need to show English for your Subclass 500 visa, the Department accepts the following tests taken within 2 years of lodgement (or within 2 years of the decision if evidence isn’t provided at lodgement):

Packaged English (ELICOS) / pathway options:
If your principal course is packaged with:
10 weeks ELICOS (or a standard/extended foundation, or an eligible pathway program), lower scores may apply (e.g. IELTS 5.5 / PTE 39 / TOEFL iBT 51, etc.).
20 weeks ELICOS, lower scores may apply again (e.g. IELTS 5.0 / PTE 31 / TOEFL iBT 37, etc.).
(C1 Advanced cannot be used for these concessions.)
 
Exemptions:
You may not need a test if you: hold passports from the UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Ireland; have completed eligible Australian study (e.g. Senior Secondary or AQF Cert IV+ on a student visa); or have 5+ years of study in English in listed countries. Note about the Mindroom English Test
Our internal English test is used for course placement only. It does not meet DHA visa evidence requirements.
