April Events at Mindroom: Skills, Creativity & Community in Action
April was an incredible month at Mindroom, filled with engaging events, strong attendance, and inspiring moments that brought our student community together. From career-focused sessions to creative workshops and networking opportunities, the energy across all events highlighted our shared commitment to growth, employability, and connection.
15 April: Get Job Ready in IT – Mentorship Programme Launch
We kicked off the month with the launch of our new IT-focused Mentorship Programme — an initiative designed to support students and graduates as they prepare for the workforce.
The response has been fantastic. Students are already booking sessions, and our mentor Aland has been in high demand, working closely with participants to provide practical guidance, industry insights, and personalised career advice.
This programme is all about bridging the gap between study and employment — helping students build confidence, clarity, and direction in their IT careers.

20 April: Student Development Lab: Photography Workshop
Creativity took centre stage in our fully booked Student Development Lab workshop: Photography for Beginners & Hobbyists.
This hands-on session gave students the opportunity to explore photography fundamentals in a practical and supportive environment — building both technical skills and creative confidence.
A special highlight was seeing our own Graphic Design student, Pedro, step up as the workshop facilitator. He did an outstanding job delivering the session, and we’re incredibly proud to see students sharing their skills and leading within the community.

23 April: Networking with LinkedIn + Free Professional Photo Shoot
One of our most popular events with Experience Gold Coast returned — and this session did not disappoint.
With a full classroom and a fantastic atmosphere, students had the chance to:
- Improve their LinkedIn profiles
- Build meaningful connections
- Receive a free professional headshot
It was a perfect blend of career development and community, helping students present themselves confidently while expanding their professional network.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and made these events such a success — from our mentors and presenters to our engaged and enthusiastic students.
We’re excited to keep the momentum going into May, with even more opportunities to learn, connect, and get hands-on experience.
