Finding Calm in the Chaos: Mindroom’s Yoga Session for International Yoga Day

On Friday, 21 June, Mindroom hosted a special yoga session in honour of International Yoga Day. Although the weather didn’t quite cooperate, the spirit of the day certainly did.

Originally planned as an outdoor event, the rainy and cold conditions meant we moved the class indoors to one of our cosy classrooms. True to yoga fashion, everything unfolded just as it was meant to. Eighteen participants had registered, but only nine made it on the day. Still, those nine fit perfectly into the space.

It was a reminder that life doesn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful.

For some members of our student community, this was their first-ever yoga class, and the experience was eye-opening. The grounding presence, breathwork, and gentle movement left many feeling calmer, more centred, and inspired to continue their wellness journey.

Why It Mattered

In the rush of student life, taking a moment to simply breathe and reconnect with ourselves can make all the difference. Events like this are opportunities to care for our mental health, connect with community, and bring intention into our daily lives.

A Special Thanks

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and helped us create a safe and peaceful space for reflection and movement. We also thank Daniele Sué, our warm and wonderful yoga teacher. She brought her calming energy and guided us through the session with compassion and ease.
