Top 5 Reasons Why Queensland is the Best Place to Study in 2021
Let’s face it, the last year has affected every single one of us, no matter our nationality. So many of us are looking for positivity and ways to reconnect, and being a student is one of the best ways to do so, whilst building towards a bright future in your career. Here are our top 5 reasons why Queensland is the best place to study in 2021.
1. It is the ‘Sunshine State’ after all
With an estimated 300 days of sunshine a year the good weather is bound to uplift and inspire you to live a full life during your time here. After such a healthy rainy season this summer the landscape is bursting with greenery and wildlife to explore with friends old and new. Queensland has five of Australia’s eleven World Natural Heritage sites: the Scenic Rim National Parks, Fraser Island, Riversleigh Fossil Fields, the Wet Tropics, and the Great Barrier Reef. With discounted flights widely available whilst airlines try to recover from their losses, its the perfect opportunity to explore this tropical paradise on your doorstep without having to fly internationally!
2. Work opportunities
Despite the recent global decline in job security as a result of Covid 19, our students share many positive stories of ongoing work opportunities. Queensland was fortunate to reopen its stores, cafes, restaurants and bars much sooner than NSW & VIC so whether you are looking for work in hospitality or within your preferred field, its business as usual for many here! We believe this trend will continue!
3. The friendly, laid back Queensland atmosphere
One thing Queenslanders know how to do is to enjoy the good life. Thats not to say that hard work isn’t part of the process but more that we know how to get out into nature to share a BBQ, surf, hike, beer, good company and a good laugh as often as possible. The culture is generally much more relaxed here, the pace a little slower, just spend a day in Sydney or Melbourne and you’ll have no doubt about this! This doesn’t mean boring though – you won’t be disappointed by the cultural diversity, markets, bars, cafes and outdoor experiences available around every corner. You will find a home, away from home.
4. More space, lower COVID numbers
The wonderful thing about Queensland is that we have space on our side. We are the second largest state in Australia, double the size of NSW and Victoria, yet our COVID rates fell well below those of NSW and VIC, despite having much more lenient regulations during the peak of the pandemic. What this meant is that businesses could re-open sooner and people could get back to earning money and we could all get out and spend time with loved one’s and friends again.
5. Queensland is growing, why not grow with it
Yes we love the space but healthy growth is also very important! With this comes innovative minds working together, and of course new opportunities to collaborate or work. The standard of education in Queensland is very high too so whilst studying there are opportunities to be inspired by people who are making things happen, in real life! We always try to help our students broaden their horizons through connecting them with movers and shakers in their industries. Small businesses are popping up all over the place, including some created by our students. Queensland is the place to grow and create within an evolving landscape
